Day 01 : Guwahati Airport-Kaziranga National Park(05 hr):
Our tour manager will welcome you at Guwahati
airport & transfer you to Kaziranga National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage
Site and the home to the endangered one horned rhinoceros ( 1855 rhinos as
per 2006 census) . Besides, the park has several species of mammals and
birds. The park has 70% of the world population of the Asiatic Water
Buffalos & the Eastern Swamp Deer. The park was brought under the Project
Tiger recently for special efforts to protect its near 100 Royal Bengal
Tigers. Amongst birds, the park has 25 globally threatened bird species.
Overnight at Bonhabi Resort/Jupuri Ghar or similar. Full day at Kaziranga National Park. We shall start early in the morning for an elephant safari for 01 hr in the central range of the park. Later we have packed-breakfast & enter the central range of the park in a jeep. Later we come back to hotel for lunch. Afterwards, in the afternoon we enter the park again in a jeep this time covering the western range of the park.
Later in the late afternoon, transfer to
Sangsua/Gatoonga Tea Estate near Jorhat. On arrival check in at the heritage
garden manager’s bungalow. Unlike many tea producing nations in the world, the Tea Gardens in Assam are big in size covering several hectares. Assam tea is known for its Black Teas--Orthodox and C.T.C.
Later in the late afternoon transfer to
Neematighat where you will board the cruise vessel and overnight.
Early in the morning sail to Majuli, the
largest river island in the World. It is the centre of Assam’s famous
Vaisnavite form of Hinduism. The religious and cultural traditions are kept
alive by the dedicated monks living in monasteries locally known as Sattra.
The Sattriya dance of this sect is the latest entry into India’s recognized
classical dances. The monastery of Samaguri known as Samaguri Sattra is
famous for the unique masks of Majuli which are used in Bhaona or religious
plays.
Sailing starts in the morning. Reach near
Tezpur in the late afternoon. Overnight stay on board around Tezpur.

Ganeshpahar in the late afternoon. Overnight stay on board at Ganeshpahar. Reach Guwahati in the morning hours after a short cruise.
Depending on your flight departure if we have
time we shall do some shopping for Assam’s famous handloom & handicraft
