Day 01: Guwahati Airport-Nameri ( 250 km/ 05 hr): Our Tour Manager will welcome you upon your arrival at Guwahati airport. Later transfer to Nameri National Park. Overnight at Eco Camp, a camp resort close to the sparkling Jia Bhoroli river which forms a boundary to the park. Day 02: Nameri-Ziro (Approx. 350 Km/ 08 hr): After breakfast transfer to Ziro in Arunachal Pradesh. Enroute we’ll visit the villages of the Nishi tribe. At 5754 ft., Ziro is almost a level valley enclosed on all sides by pine-clad low stooping hills. This area is the home of the Apatani tribe. The traditional Apatani men folk wear their hair in a topknot with cane helmets & a brass skewer struck through their ears. The men also have a tattoo mark resembling the English letter ‘T’on the chin, starting below the lower lip. The women folk could be identified by the wooden nose plugs known as ‘yapinghules’ worn on both the nostrils. Overnight at hotel Pineridge or similar. Day 03: Ziro:
Full day excursion to the interior of
Arunachal Pradesh. Using Ziro as a base the entire day is spent visiting
the Hong village, one of the largest tribal villages in Asia & other
Apatani villages like Bulla village.
Departing early after breakfast we descend
from the Ziro Plateau & drive along the Kamla river valley through dense
jungle country, passing picturesque villages of the Nishi & the Hill Miri
tribes.
Full day excursion to the interior of
Arunachal Pradesh exploring villages of the Tagins & the Hill Miris or Adi
Gallongs. Trek to Pangi village via Karo. Overnight in camps on the beach of the Siang river.
Day 09: Pangi-Sissen: TREK: Then drive to
Pasighat:
After breakfast leave for Aohali to see Idu
Mishimi tribal villages. Later back to Pasighat. Overnight at Pasighat. In the late afternoon visit Shiva Dol, an Ahom monument which is believed to be the highest Shiva Temple in India with its height of 104 ft. By the side of this temple is the massive Sivasagar tank, another Ahom monument covering an area of 257 acres of land out of which 129 acres are filled with crystal clear water.
Day 12 Sivasagar: We shall visit some monasteries & interact with the celibate monks. In the late afternoon we return the same way by ferry and take an hour’s drive to Sangsua/ Gatoonga tea gardens and check in at the heritage garden manager’s bungalow. Unlike many tea producing nations in the world, the Tea Gardens in Assam are fairly big in size covering several hectares. Assam tea is known for its Black Teas-Orthodox and C.T.C. Day 14: Sangsua/Gatoonga tea garden-Kaziranga National Park(Approx 75 km/ 2 hr): First half free at leisure enjoying the tea garden. If tea plucking and the factory works go on we shall take the assistance of a garden executive to explain us the method of tea plucking or tea processing.
Later in the afternoon transfer to Kaziranga
National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the home to the endangered
one horned rhinoceros (2048 rhinos as
per 2009 census) . Besides, the park
has several species of mammals and birds. The park has 70% of the world
population of the Asiatic Water Buffalos & the Eastern Swamp Deer. The
park was brought under the Project Tiger recently for special efforts to
protect its near 100 Royal Bengal Tigers. Amongst birds, the park has 25
globally threatened bird species. Overnight at Bonhabi Resort/Jupuri Ghar
or similar.
